Privacy Policy

True North (“the app”) is designed to be private by default. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. The short version: we do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data, and the app works fully offline.

Data we collect

None. True North has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no telemetry. We do not collect usage data, diagnostics, identifiers, or personal information of any kind. The App Store privacy label for this app is “Data Not Collected.”

Offline by design

The entire study experience, including the question bank, practice, mock exams, and your progress, runs on your device. The app makes no network requests to us or to any third party for its core function. Your study activity, scores, and any province you select stay on your device.

Your progress

Your practice history, scores, spaced-repetition state, and settings are stored locally on your device (and in your own iCloud backup if you have that enabled for the app). We never see or receive them.

Purchases

True North offers an optional one-time Pro in-app purchase. Purchases are handled entirely by Applethrough the App Store and StoreKit. We never receive or store your payment details. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The app stores only a local indication of whether Pro is unlocked; StoreKit ties your purchase to your Apple ID so you can restore it.

Not affiliated with the Government of Canada

True North is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Government of Canada, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), or any government body. It does not provide legal or immigration advice. “Discover Canada” and related official materials are the property of their respective owners; True North references the official guide and links you to the government's own resources.

Children

True North does not target children and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and post the revised policy at the same URL. Material changes will be noted in a future app update's release notes.
