Privacy Policy
Markdown Loft (“the app”) is designed to be private by default. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. The short version: we do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data.
Data we collect
None. Markdown Loft has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no telemetry. We do not collect usage data, diagnostics, identifiers, or personal information of any kind.
Your files
Markdown Loft opens, previews, edits, and exports files that you choose, directly on your device. Your documents stay on your Mac (and any storage you personally sync them to, such as iCloud Drive). We never see, upload, or transmit your file contents. File access is mediated by the macOS security sandbox and limited to files and folders you explicitly open.
Network access
The app can make one kind of network request: when a Markdown document you open references a remote image (for example, a status badge in a README), the app fetches that image from the URL in your document so it can be displayed in the preview. This is the same request a web browser would make to show the image. The app does not send us, or any third party, information about you, your files, or your usage as part of this.
Purchases
Markdown Loft offers an optional one-time “Pro” in-app purchase. Purchases are handled entirely by Applethrough the App Store and StoreKit. We never receive or store your payment details. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The app stores only a local flag on your Mac indicating whether Pro is unlocked.
Children
Markdown Loft does not target children and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and post the revised policy at the same URL. Material changes will be reflected in a future app update's release notes.
